  1. Event: ACM B.Tech. Project Contest organized by the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Professional Chapter, Kolkata

    Name of the award received: Special mentioned Award

    Date of final presentation: 27th May, 2017

    Project title: Hierarchically Clustering through dimensionality reduction technique for community detection in Social Network

    Names of the students receiving the award: Aniruddha Banerjee Auvik Dey

    As per the rules of the event, more than two students could not register for a single team. The B.Tech final year project which was presented for this competition comprised of the following two students also: Nilesh Kumar Shomya Shekhar

  2. Event: INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) Youth Conclave A team consisting of students from IT Department 3rd year (2016-2020 Batch), secured the 3rd position under the domain of Healthcare Application Development in the INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) Youth Conclave conducted at IIT Kharagpur, during 10th - 12th August, 2018.

    The names of the students in the team: Saurabh Anand, Prerna Joshi, Suyash Saroj, Prashant Kumar Jha, Shruti Srivastava. The team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

  3. Event: INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) Youth Conclave A team consisting of students from IT Department 2nd year (2016-2020 Batch), secured the 3rd position in the INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) Youth Conclave conducted at IIT Kharagpur, during 23th – 25th March, 2018. The team won the 3rd prize under the domain of Town Planning.

    The presenters from the team were Souparna Roy and Sreeja Bhattacharya. The presenters along with Soumyadip Sen represented the team at IIT Kharagpur. The team consisted of 7 students: Soumyadip Sen, Souparna Roy, Sreeja Bhattacharya, Soham Sarkar, Soham Bhowmick, Sania Anjum, Sayan Barik.

    The team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
  4. Event: Deloitte Technoutsav 2.0 A team consisting of students from IT Department (2016-2020 Batch) emerged as the winning team in the Data Science / Machine Learning domain in Deloitte Technoutsav 2.0. This hackathon was organised and conducted by Deloitte. Its final offline round took place in the headquarters of Deloitte USI at Hyderabad on the 15th and 16th of April 2019, after a series of online rounds.

    The names of the students in the team:

    Sreeja Bhattacharya, Swarnali Talukdar and Harsh Raman Their project was on mental health prediction and analysis using an AI driven chatbot. They received a winning amount of Rs 75,000. Also, as a part of the winning prize, all three of them were extended a direct pre-placement offer by Deloitte.
  5. Event: Bengalathon (2019) Bengalathon (2019) - a Technology based competition, is an initiative of Information Technology and Electronics by the Government of West Bengal. The Grand Finale took place at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center, Kolkata on the 4th of January, 2020. The finale was held after a series of online rounds where more than 1,500 teams across seven states competed amongst each other to provide innovative solutions to real life challenges. Swarnali Talukdar, Uzma Siddiqui and Soham Bhowmick, from the batch 2016-2020 of the Department of Information Technology, emerged as the finalists in Bengalathon. Their project was based on the topic Financial Awareness via Gamification which was mentored and supervised by Dr. Subhamita Mukherjee.

    The Finalist Team received a certificate of participation which was endorsed by the Government of West Bengal.
